Dr Nick Motson explains his research into the risk appetite of fund managers
Professor Andrew Clare and Dr Nick Motson were awarded the 2009 Sciens Capital Award for "Best Academic Article", in conjunction with The Journal for Alternative Investments, for their paper ' Locking in the Profits or Putting It All on Black? An Empirical Investigation into the Risk-Taking Behavior of Hedge Fund Managers'.
In this Video from Cass Business School, Dr Motson, says his research shows evidence that hedge fund managers may be inconsistent with their approach to risk and become more cautious once their fund is in profit. He says this research should be used as a framework for conducting due diligence on hedge funds.
Dr Motson explained his research for this week’s Cass Talks interview. Cass Talks is a series of free video and audio interviews uploaded weekly each Wednesday, presented by BBC Business Reporter and current Cass EMBA student, Alex Ritson.
